How to Apply a cricket bat grip without using a cone?
Hey friends, I live in US. So, I can't get a cone right now. My friends have a cone, but they are not with me right now. I think buying a new cone online for 10 to 20 dollars just for applying a cone for once is waste of money, so can u guys help me how to apply a grip without using a cone? Please hurry up, My cricket season starts this weekend. Thank you.

- So, u want to be a Sanath, Imran or a Sachin eh? Ok. 1st. U must have the "Technique" to be a great batsman. You must have the ability to make effective shots is greatly enhanced by a good setup of grip, stance, & backlift. U must master the proper technique right from the start. OK. now to the good stuff - A. Lay ur bat facedown on the ground with the handle pointing toward the batter.(You) The batter picks up the bat up with both hands together in the middle of the handle.... B.The V formed by the first finger and the thumb should be pointing down the bat between the splice and the leading edge. C. The first finger and thumb form a V. D. The V formed by the hands points down the bat.
- It may be worthwhile buying one as grips don't last that long, I go through 2 per season.
- We have an air powered machine that does it for us at our local indoor cricket centre that works well. Saving getting one of those, get something that is similar with the end like a coke bottle or something and just roll it onto it, roll it up as much as you can, then place it on the handles end and try to roll it over the top. It won't be exactly easy, but if you have no other alternative. Then you can roll it down until you get to the bottom and stretch it out to cover the whole handle. If you can't manage that, try a local sports store or indoor sports centre. I don't know if you have indoor cricket much over there but just another idea. Good luck. You will need something more long term though, a grip might only last a few months of heavy use.
- If ya get desperate could you try a piece of dowl?
