what does it mean if a cricket bat has thick edges. What does that change when hitting the ball?
they say a cricket bat has thick edges what does that mean and what does it do different to a bat with thin edges. i dont get it why would u want thick edges

- Thick edge and thin edge are nothing but technical terms in Cricket while batting. When the batsman hits the ball he should be doing with the centre of the bat for best intended short. If he hits on the sides(edges) and depending on the edged shot whether it's a foreceful shot or just a touch, they are called thick edged shot or thin edged shot. Such shots might result in the batsman getting out(or if luck might fall in 'no man's land') for the ball from such edged shots will not go where the batsman intended it to go
- When ball TOuch to Rite or LEft side or any side of the edge of the bat is called Thick edge..
- when a ball touches wood's edge(thin edge) and goes back it will travel less distance than concreat's edge(thick edge)... If the edges are harder and thick there is less possibilities that the batsman will get caught out by someone who is standing at slip positions....
