The protective plastic covering often applied to cricket bats is called antiscuff/proface what is it?????
Checked a number of cricket websites but it is always supplied under the generic terms above. Basically it is a very tough durable plastic film which helps protect the face of bats from carcking and impact damage. Are there different types used or is there one type of plastic. Does it have uses in other sectors of industry?? Answers such as /dont know/called plastic facing not really helpful. Type of plastic please??

- I don't know! Never heard of it before!
- It is called Plastic Facing.
- Hi. I believe it is a 'polyvinyl', a man made substance. A bit like the interlayer you would find sandwiched between the two layers of glass on your car windscreen. A very similar, if not the same material, is used by car enthusiasts to protect the front edge of their bonnet, especially on show cars. Hope helps. Regards
