Craaaaaazy taxes on you cell phone bill?

I just started sprint about 2 weeks ago... I just got my first bill online today for a lot of money, and that was to be expected with activations and all of that nonsense... but here's the thing. I have a $39.99 plan I have $10 unlimited texting on that I have $7 equipment protection plan. It says my taxes and surcharges are $22.37 a month! $22.37 a month!?! Is it going to be this high the whole time I have this phone!? When I had cricket, it was $6.05 a month! I'm not paying $80 a month for 450 minutes on a stinkin cell phone! Anyone else have this problem? Do the taxes go down after the first bill or will I be paying these for my whole 2 year contract?!
