Why does Nz Cricket continue to play games in the likes of Dunedin where it always seems to be raining? Why is it that we are playing a game of test cricket in the region of the country that has the worst weather for this time of year. Im sick of watching games in dunedin which get cut half short because of rain. Why not play the December/January tests in parts of the country where the weather is better and where people would go for their summer holidays i.e Queenstown, Nelson, Naiper, The Mt, or even the Bay Of Islands. It would be good for the smaller towns plus we would get to see some cricket! The ICC may decide on which venue's are appropriate for test cricket but that doesn't meen to say that nz cant throw a few k into building/designing some new grounds in these summer areas. That would be apropriate for test matches. I'm also sure that the ICC would be all for it and would be glad to help out. All it takes is for NZ Cricket to open their mouths and talk with the ICC.
Do you think T20 game will attract more number of countries to play cricket? Because ODI and Test cricket is time consuming. So on pattern of Football, Hocky and Tenis if result is declared in shortest possible time, more countries will join T20 club of ICC. Even in world cup within a month more nation can play and people can watch the game in stipulated shortest time. Test cricket will be left only for nation performing best in T20 and ODI
the biggest gentleman of the game retires rom test cricket? i have never seen Jayasuriya getting involved in any kind of mess like Aussies do every now and then. i pay my tribute to him for his marvellous contribution in the world cricket and changing the trends of cricket in power play. This gentle man was tortured few years ago by his wife too. what i want to know is that is this man continuing with the same abusive woman or he separated from this torturous lady to have a peaceful life in future.
who you think win the IPL. Is it correct to change the shape of the original cricket game, playing 50, 20? I think the Bengal tiger may win the IPL. Because Gunguly has an efficiency more than dhoni. Also he takes advices. Then what I feel is, the original type of cricket played in the early days tested the stamina and the concentration of the player. Dravid has the training in it. whereas nowdays 50-20- overs all only based upon luck and money. So actually they are killing the spirit of cricket for what it was made. If we want immediate result means there are so many games are there. But this is the only game tested the inner strength of the player. Solgar, Gavaskar, Abbet ali and many stood in the ground defending their wicket for more than twodays though they may not scored high run rates. But they faced the balls . what do you say
RE: NZ TEST CRICKET... dying? The last question I asked, everyone missed the point I was trying to make... so I will try again. NZ cricket (adminastrators) J Vaughan and M Sneedon prior, I feel do not see that test cricket is important for the future of NZ cricket ie:the Black Caps. I have no problem with 20/20 & 1 dayers.. I enjoy all forms of the game. However, due to this stance form NZ cricket... We are seeing good players hang up there boots early in test to consentrate on 20/20 and 1 dayers. We are having less and less test per year. For this reason our players are more suited to the shorter versions of the game. In future I can not see how NZ are going to be competitive with the other test playing nations, and now I find myself not so interested in the games NZ are involved in (all forms) and get my satisfaction from following the test seres in Oz or India. This has nothing to do with 20/20 taking over. Its that my team (Black Caps) are not involved as much anymore (in test) and therefore are not competitive. NZ cricket fans are not getting the intellectual satisfaction in cricket. Someone said 'test are about out thinking, out mastering' or Steve Waughs words... 'mental disintergration' your thoghts.... Am I right about NZ cricket bosses? I do accept that, the (administrators) are isolating test cricket fans and possible losing some, they are probably creating a new fan base that maybe larger... however, I think they coluld still manage to support all forms of the game to keep all fans interested. Yep, I hear what your saying vsssarma, However I think you are still missing the point. NZL test cricketers are leaving or retiring from test cricket to concemtrate on 20/20 and 1 dayers. This does not happen in aus, india, SA, Pak or Eng. The reason is clearly because of NZ crickets agenda, The outcome is going to be less interest in major test and less likely we will see cricketing greats from NZ... so the competition decreases.
Does MS Dhoni care about Test cricket. Should he still be future Test captain? Dhoni has said that he could never watch test cricket or even one day cricket because he found it boring, the only time he watched cricket was when sachin tendulkar was batting. THIS PROVES HE AINT A CRICKET PURIST, AND DOESNT UNDERSTAND THE GAME. Moreover, He complained of being tired, LOL, and therefore skipped an important test series against Sri Lanka, But he would play the one day series that follows ( Just Shows where is real attention is, LIMITED OVERS CRICKET) One could ask, if he was tired, then why did he play in the useless Kitply cup, and the pathetic Asia Cup. he Complained of playing back to back games in the Asia cup, But he didnt once complain about playing back to back games in the shi* bore of IPL. People Like Dravid, Kumble, Ganguly, Laxman, Sehwag, Sachin, khan ect... Have never complained of being tired, let alone deciding to skip a Test series Dhoni is a bad influence on the younger generation, and i personally dont want someone like that to be captain I Hate Dhoni aswell, someone like Sachin has Played neally for 20 years, and his body isnt what it used, but he never complains of being tired, and has never missed a series, because he was tired, lol. SEHWAG TO BE CAPTAIN
For cricket fans??? Mohammad Azharudin is a confirmed cheat. He took bribes to throw games. he convinced other cricketers such as Hansie Cronje to do the same. Why are India still allowed to play test cricket? I think they should all have been banned for life, everyone who was associated with him. Your thoughts. I posted this for a reason. I hope all the droppy lipped sad sacks who ahve been calling Australia cheats realise that they come from a country with confirmed cheats. Warne and Waugh had conversations with a bookmaker that where shown to be just that. Weather reports basically. But it's not nice to be called cheats is it. (takes a handfull of dirt out of pocket and rubs it into ball)
Name the only Test cricketer to be knighted whilst still a player? 24 people have been knighted for their services to cricket. (I'm still waiting!). Most of them had hung up their boots before receiving their knighthood. One was knighted prior to making his Test debut (The Maharajah Kumar of Vizianagram, knighted as Sir Vijaya Anand). Another (Bradman) played a couple of first class matches after his knighthood, but had retired from Test cricket. Many knights have played the game. But only one person was still playing as a Test cricketer at the time of his knighthood (although to be pedantic, it wasn't actually during a match!). Who was it?
How can you explain your love of cricket to, say, an American? Aussies, Kiwis, the sub-continent, much of Africa, even the English (:-)) play and love this game in different styles but when you try to explain it .... Particularly test cricket, on the face of it, it's 5 days of guys running in to bowl, often the ball going past untouched, to batsmen who slowly compile a lot of jogging practice. But it's fascinating. Why do we love it? What can you say to an American for example to explain that? Curling? Now I REALLY must get that one explained to me one day!!
should cricket be played in the olympics? there are most of the sports in olympics but not the cricket give reasons for putting cricket there and for not putting cricket there expect that an average odi cricket game takes 7 hours and a test games takes 4 days
Is cricket really a game of eleven? All media say "Cricket is a game of Eleven".I remember quotation long time back.A writer has expressed that Cricket is game played by Eeleven and watched by Eleven thousand fools. He called audience fols because they waste their precious time (A test match for 5 days)in watching the game(He mentioned only about the test matches as ODIs takes only 1 day)
Is the present Indian cricket team mentally strong enough to beat the Aussies today? In cricket & all other sports the team which has lost the previous match is usually under pressure of the winning team but when you are playing against Australia in cricket then that is absolutely opposite. When you defeat Australia in a match, then you yourself are under enormous pressure because you know deep down in your heart that the Aussies will come back strongly. Ponting has said that Australia will play it's best game in this match. So Indian team has to be on their toes because in this match, you can bet your .. that Australia will not bowl that many wides & they will be even more sharp in the fielding. I am sure Australia will play great cricket in this match because they are the champions & that too 'Undisputed'. It's a test of character for the Indian team & Indian players & the only question is that 'Are the Indians mentally tough enough to cope with the pressure'? My best wishes are with team India , I hope they will not disappoint us & will fight till the end Also, congratulations to the 'Cricket God' for playing his 400th odi match. I salute you Sachin. You were, you are & you will always be remembered as the biggest 'ICON' in the history of cricket. There will never be another Sachin Tendulkar. Humble people like you are rare. I think 1.1 billion of my Indian brothers & sisters would agree with me that we all love you not because of the damn 'RECORDS' but because of the fact that you are one of the nicest person living on this planet. Sachin Tendulkar will not only be remembered as one of the greatest ever but also as one of the nicest cricketers to have played the game. I want to see you playing for the next 100 years because when you score runs, 'IT FEELS GOOD IN THE HEART'. I am damn sure that my message will reach you Sachin. May you live long So, i was right (as always). Aussies have come back strongly. Sachin is at the crease & 5 others are out. It's going to be difficult task now to survive all 50 overs. Forget about the big target. Wicket is good for spinners. I think 240 will be required at least to compete with Australian batsmen. Psych_gal - Indians aren't overconfident. Yes, they aren't mentally tough, that's why they struggle against Australia. The only problem is inconsistency. Otherwise on a given day,Indian team can beat any team. And i am sure we could have easily defeated any other team.
Dirty politics mars the game of Cricket. If BCCI gave the 2nd test to Kolkata, the game would be held without..? any hitch like low attendance or loss of playing time due to fog or rain.Sasank Manohar & co. knew very well from before that Mohali is not an appropriate test venue in winter.According to rotation system, Kolkata was the contender but Manohar & co. violated norms & gave it to Mohali. Now, look, what's happened. this is 5th day & 11.20 a.m, the game is yet to start. The reason behind it is that the CAB President is JagMohan Dalmiya & he is the bitterest enemy of present BCCI regime. But ultimate loser is the game of Cricket & millions of Cricket loving people of India & the world. SHAME ON YOU DIRTY ADMINISTRATORS & POLITICIANS RUINING THE GAME BY RUNNING THE ADMINISTRATION. Your unbiased view/s please.
In cricket and in football world cup qualifying, why must most of the matches be giant versus midget ? In cricket and in football world cup qualifying, why must most of the matches be giant versus midget with only a 1% chance of an upset (including a draw)? Why can't they have a system that creates more evenly matched games, and that allows countries to play someone of their own calibre? Why can't one of the two (world cup qualifying or continental cup qualifying) be played in higher and lower divisions ? Wouldn't a ladder system for test cricket and a system of divisions in the continents make for better suspense (they could have promotion & relegation and, if requested to, a short knockout tournament could still give you all the mismatches and the everybody-has-an-equal-chance-to-win you request)?
Why did Cricket decline in popularity in England? England was where the Game was born. For a long time in history, Cricket was heralded as the symbol of the Empire, and English identity. The country was also associated with many legendary episodes, e.g. the Bodyline Series, an event in early 1930's, which brought Australia in a diplomatic stand-off with Great Britain, and fostered its national identity in the aftermath. It was a common ritual for cricketers to be knighted. Granted, Cricket as a game was initially, the preserve of the elite, but its popularity was unquestionable even among the masses. Well until the early 1980's, the country would be brought to a standstill whenever England played Test at home. Isn't it interesting to ask what actually happened? While Australia still retains its love for Cricket, the game has died a slow, natural death in the original place. Today, England's team is second-rate to say the least, and its domestic circuit, once a magnet for Test cricketers, has dwindled to the level of schoolboys.
Do you think that...? If the best players from all the non-test playing nations (and Bangladesh) was combined into one nation then, that team would be good enough to have test status? Would this be the best chance for players from non-test playing countries to play competitive test cricket? This team could play there home games in different non-test playing countries thus allowing people from Ireland, Canada etc to watch a good standard of test cricket. Do you think it could work?
sri lanka, who else agrees they are not far off Bangladesh when it comes to real cricket ( test cricket)? they are second class when it comes to playing the true form of the game, not bad at one dayers, but where it counts they lack skill and commitment, what are your thoughts? i expect all the big mouths to give this question a miss ay? - they know who they are. no offence meant pramato,i just get sick of all the Aussie bashers on this forum-what goes around comes around my friend. ha ha some good passionate answers out there i see,i didn't need to go fishing, ive already caught a few snapper on here-chill out dudes i have to put up with rubbish questions like this one all the time from some of the sri lankan supporters. Geenoduncan,i could probably bribe you for a $1.50 thamara, ive been a keen cricket follower for about 30years,and i un-like some of the people on this forum i actually respect all sides. ROSHNI,you are definately the smartest out of this bunch-yeah im taking the p!$$,i thought this type of question might rile the troops :),but i stand by the fact this is the sort of rubbish said about Aussies on this forum by a few small minded fans.
Would you like to see India and England playing more test matches against each other? It has been noticed that India and England are the two cricket nations making a big jump in cricket and taking this game forward to a higher level. India has started ICL and IPL and England will soon start one. So naturally there will be a nice rivalry between the two and i think these two teams should lock horns more often. Finally,do you think Ind-Eng has the potential to become a great friendly rivalry in cricket?
Why so much difference in batsman performance between one day cricket and test match cricket? In one day games i have seen too many times that a team would score well over 300 runs in 50 overs. But in a test match, if a team is given a target of 300 in about 75 overs to win, then the team will not even try to chase it. instead it would play so extremely slow that it appears they are only trying to protect their wicket and are not interested in chasing the target. If in one days so many teams can score 300 or more in 50 overs and still win chasing 300+, then how come in test match cricket they will not even try to chase 300 in 75 to 80 overs to win the match? I remember a while back england had to score 50 runs in 6 overs only to defeat sri lanka in test match and everyone predicted that 50 runs in 6 overs is too hard, but england easily did it and beat sri lanka. Yet in tests even in 85 overs, 300 runs will not be attempted to be chased for win. How come?
why bangladesh still so weak in cricket even after playing for long time? I don't know when Bangladesh started playing one day cricket but I remember once seeing their one day game against Pakistan in 1997 and they displayed extremely poor performance and were all out for 134 only. 10 years later in 2007, they are still pretty much the same and continue to lose heavily against almost any test cricket nation. They went on a tour of newzealand few year back in 2003 or 2004 and the result was disasterous. The tests were over even before 3 days. My question is that since its been at least 10 years they've played one day cricket, why they continue being so weak? In the subcontinent all neighboring bangladesh countries play good cricket -- India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Then why Bangladesh still left behind?
Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh - after the 1st test? Well, the 1st test is over - a win for Sri Lanka by an innings and 234 runs. 8 tests played 8 - straight wins for SL over the Tigers. The 5th innings win. Sri Lanka has never required the 5th day ever in those 8 tests to win. Four of the test matches has ended inside 3 days and the remaining games with a day + more to spare. I'm not dumping Bangladeshi cricket, but need to find out what's hampering it or the ailment. It's high time, don't you guys/gals out there, think that (after what 8 years is it) Bangladesh prove it self on the test scene? Is it a problem with the temperment - I think so. The SSC was a belter a pitch but the way the Tigers got out - seriously not good. Also don't you think Ashraful is too impulsive. The guy has 32 tests and almost 6 years of test cricket, but still gets out to most craziest of all shots like in the 2nd innings. Like to hear what yo think. Specially the Bangladeshi fans. Coach, support staff, infrastructure etc. Ok, you need it all, but don't you think that the players have a responcibilty towards themselves and towards their country? Coach, support staff, infrastructure etc. Ok, you need it all, but don't you think that the players have a responsibilty towards themselves and towards their country?
Your thoughts on why Cricket is better than any other sport? Here are my reasons: 1. Intelligent Sport: Not only it demands physical fitness (like football) but also tests your strategy-making for the whole time duration (like Chess). What to choose bat or bowling? When to declare an innings? Fielding positions? Pitch and weather reports? Also it's very difficult to teach cricket rules to people who live in countries where cricket is not played -as far as baseball is concerned all I had to do was watch a game on TV and do a wikipedia study -I challenge a baseballer (American) to do the same with cricket 2. A game of patience -Baseballers and footballers may call it slow (especially Test cricket) but it's the longer time duration of cricket that makes it more interesting to watch -once you understand the rules, of course! 3. A game without any body contact - why would you want to touch anyone who's dripping with sweat oily hair? In cricket you don't have to unless you're shaking hands

ICL, IPL & 20/20 Cricket are infact making cricket better for everyone? I know some have said its not proper cricket and its not a real test of cricket but end of the day if it brings: Spactators Money for players and the game Getting more countries to play the game Getting more people to play and watch the game Is there really a downside to 20/20 crickter if it produces all this? is there anything which can be even done to stop this trend? is it really worth stopping and going against this trend?
Why do some people think tat cricket in INDIA is famous bcoz people r workless& they need timepassmedium? For me cricket is more beautiful than anyother game be it soccer or.................................. Soccer ends in 2-3 hrs where u require instint of brain while playing. But cricket is so complex u need talent, patience, ability to handle pressure as u hav time in the game for recovery,& instint sometimes. u'll find diff people in this game som of them hav liittle talent but become heros due to there patience just as rahul &u'll also find people like sehwag whho hav the required talent but may not use it due to lack of patience. In my words cricket also teaches a lot to us about life ,only lovers & followers of cricket can understand this feeling.i think even test cricket is as interesting but u need the write eyes watching them .WATS U'R SAY ???????????????????
Indian Cricket Team? I just heard Indian cricket team lost the game against Sri Lanka and is pretty much out from the world cup unless Bermuda beats Bangladesh I wonder sometimes that cricket is like a religion in that country and people just go crazy about this sport yet the Indian cricket team sucks and is most overrated team between the test playing nations so if cricket is so popular then howcome Indian cricket team sucks
why so much extravaganza on T20 winning world cup? why so much extravaganza on T20 winning world cup. Is it all so much necessary. So much money being paid to the players. Are we recognising any other games or sports person like this. Recently Viswanathan Anand became world champion in Chess. No paper highlighted even one millionth of what is being shown to this win in cricket. How many VIPs congratulated V Anand and k not even few Rs was paid to him to my knowlege. Why paying sumptuoulsly that too only to cricket players. Are we not responsible making them to play for money not for country. Will these players play one test match or game for the sake of Country if they are not going to be paid lavishly or praised like this. Who is responsible for hyping like this. Are we not dealing with Cricket only to special care. Why >> what about other games and why not we treat all games equally and encourage all respective players. Two popular channels at the moment are showing the players bus ride from Mumbai airport to the stadium.
ICC should ban Indian Cricket Team immediately for their continuing worst performance. Do you agree? a. One team play worst cricket for a while. But one team playing last 20 years worst cricket. Still ICC not ban that team. why? It is none other than Indian team. "ICC should announce award best No:1 worst team for India" You cannot dream such a worst performance in your life time. Reason for ban are as follows: 1. Again and again BCCI producing bad, (worst) pitches for test matches. No turn, No Bounce, dry, dusty pitches for test matches. Bangalore pitch is fit for nothing according to me. Pitches in India not fit for cricket. This reason itself enough to ban Indian Cricket by the ICC. 2. Players playing irresponsible cricket time and again. Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Shewag and Laxman fit for nothing. Going on occupying the place in the Indian team and doing injustice to the talented youngsters waiting in the ring for the long time. a. Worst Batting b. Very Worst fielding c. Running between the wickets is very very worst. d. Not taking quick singles. 3 Fail to score boundaries 4. Wasting lot of deliveries and put more pressure on incoming batsman. If I am the selector " I will "Get Out" to sachin, sourav, dravid and laxman from the cricket. Anil Kumble, Harbhajan and Zaheer Khan will be awarded by the ICC as No.1 Worst Bowlers of the Year. Match after Match, Year after Year player will get more experience and performing well is the story. But in Indian cricket especially Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan match after match, year after year their very worst performance continues.................. Nobody in the BCCI or selectors asking question on them or otherwise drop them from the team. Only solution left now is ICC should ban Indian cricket immediately. Indian team creating very bad image not only for India but also for whole cricketing world and cricket game because of their worst performance. 60 overs just 2 wickets in the Bangalore match is the utter shame for Anil Kumble and Harbhajan singh. Playing in home soil. This type of worst performance really very sad for Indian cricket fans. I switch off the Tv set now. I never seen such a worst performance by any team in my life time like Indian team.
Why are Australians such bad sportsmen. sledging is cheating why is this allowed in cricket it puts batsmen o from concentrating and it sets a bad example to young people. Does anyone agree with me that Test cricket should be played for some nominal fee, so that it is the game that matters not the money. I brought up my kids to be honest ,my young son said, Ponting cheats, and he is captain of Australia, so why did you tell me off about cheating dad. Are Aussies proud of this sledging ? sledging is cheating. its obvious that most of my fellow Aussies think its okay to cheat. What does that tell the world about us. why should we worry about climate change who knows it may clear the human rubbish from the planet . sledging is cheating regardless who does it. It ruins the whole point of playing sport or is it a fact that this has become rather an uncivilised country, where ethics has no meaning, no wonder Howard could lie with impunity he was doing what the national standards say, its okay to do cheat. So it must be okay to lie. And my sons have been very fortunate to be brought up without these cultural defects. My god get a grip. So sport is just an excuse to be rude. I say put a end to all sledging it looks dumb.
Whats the Point of The Border-Gavaskar Ind vs. Aus Series? After Sunil Gavaskar himself said "Australia have shown a horrible performance in the field, they have killed the game of Cricket"And Surprisingly Allan Border too agreed with Gavaskar saying "Australian team has made mistakes in the matches, Ricky Ponting should not have made accusations on Harbhajan as he didnt hear anything personally".Anil Kumble said "We came here to play the game of cricket, we want the other team to play like this" he then paused, and said something even more controversial "Atleast there was one team playing with the spirit of the game" and was followed by applause , only from the indian media. The Indian captain, the legends whose names are used in the match (alan and Sunil) , most people (of the test playing nations - except india and australia as both the countries are going to support themselves..) , West Indies, Pakistan , India (SURPRISE!) , Bangladesh, Sri Lanka all condeming what happened yesterday just gives u 1 question Whats the Point of winning now
Who thinks ppl saying the poms can still win the series forgot to take their mental pills? muahahahhahahahahahah now that is funny!!!! unless panesar plays and anderson and jones are gone.....expect the 3rd..4th...and 5th test for the aussies to win by an innings!!!! cause those pitches are along with brisbane the places where aussies usually thrash opposing teams!!!! adelaide is the only aussie weak point and england choked!!! by from the things ive heard so far....giles will play the 3rd test as well.....bye bye england....england won the ashes after 17 years...and lost it in 18 months.....poor fools.....u dont have a good bowling attack....u wont win a test against ANY team let alone the aussies....thats why the west indies in the 80's and this aussie team with warne and mcgrath are two of the best teams ever!!!! fletcher must be living under a rock or just plain stupidity to play 4 3 players that havnt played a game of cricket in 18 months!!!! yes giles dropping ponting was giles dropping the ashes!!! he will have to live with that for the rest of his miserable life!!! u know the biggest shock was that the poms could actually push the aussies that far in a test!!! the loss wasnt really a surprised....u knew the poms would somehow find a way to lose the test....u just had a feeling....if anyone can do it ....the poms can!!!! btw the umpiring by buknor and koertzen was dreadful and crucial stages in the match....ponting was out twice in the test...but not given...bad lbw.....when is technology going to be used....when we start to use technology...we would finally see fair results where the umpires hadnt played a massive role in the final outcome!!!!
can any one help me revise this three paragraph,please... greatly appreciated!!? Cricket is well known game in Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. There are four different format of cricket: Test International, One Day International, First Class and Twenty20. Test International can last anywhere from one day to five days. They play seven to eight hours, depending on weather. First Class cricket is a domestic cricket game which is played between states. This game can last anywhere between one to three days. This format of the game is not that popular; however, players who play good in this format likely to chosen for Test International or One Day International. The most popular format of cricket is One Day International which is five hours game. This format has World Cup similar to World Series, which is played every four years. Twenty20, a latest and short format of cricket is really interesting. This is two hour game with lots of fun. People love this format and slowly forgetting other formats of the game. People love the latest format of the game because it last only in two hours. This game is seasonal unlike other formats. Players from different countries play together from same team. It is like All Star Game. Other formats are played on national level and players get paid by government. However, Twenty20 teams have owners and sponsors. Players get a huge amount of money by sponsors and owners. Therefore, they all are excited to play in Twenty20. The idea of this format is originally taken from MLB league, United States of America which is surprisingly worked. When it first started, everybody thought that it was not the format that cricket fan wanted. It was thought to be a huge risk. In the end, everything proved to be wrong. Weekend nights with pleasant atmosphere and amazing music really rock the stadium. Stadiums get crowded in every single game. Dancers perform at several different stages throughout games on techno and club mix music. When players hit sixes and fours, like home run in baseball, the sky gets colorful with fireworks. Players also get extra money for each homerun they make, so you may not surprise if you see thirty-forty sixes in just two hours. Other good thing about the game is, it is mostly played after 8:00 p.m. so people can go to work, relax for a bit and then come to see game. For many people, it’s like movie time. It is a live movie full of sound effect, rivalry, dance and fun. In addition, most team owners are bollywood movie stars, so people will come to see them too.
192 MB ram enough for ea cricket 2007 game ??? plsss help!!!!!? i have got 256 MB ram in my pc and i have alotted 64 MB for onboard graphics-so that amounts to 192 MB ,the minimum requirements for playing cricket07 game is 256 MB ram !so , will i be able to play it ?i had done a test at "systemrequirementlab.com" and it says i would not be able to play since my system failed in "ram test" as i have got less ram.my system had passed in every other test . what do u say? pls answer!
Should the Indian and South African fast bowlers boycott this test series? First of all, hats off to Veeru for the way he played.Tremendous knock. Yes,the track was damn flat. But how many batsmen have done this on a flat track? None.So he deserves a lot of credit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back to question - Well flat tracks are killing the fun of the game. The test series in Australia was so intresting because the pitches in 3 of the four games( adelaide wicket was flat) gave something to everyone. And because of that there was great contest between the bat and ball. Now,only good cricketers can do well in that kind of a tough contest. And we can find out the real greatness of a cricketer in only these contests where the conditions give something to everyone. We produce flat tracks which break the heart of fast bowlers. The ball don't swing much in the air and the lateral movement after pitching is almsot nothing. Even spinners don't get any help for first 3 & a half days. I feel sorry for these fast bowlers. RIP test cricket.
Jews born in England and the Israel match? I have noticed in recent media items a drive for people to support England (The cricket test) if born here, in sporting events and similar as opposed to the country their ancestors came from.. So do people think Jews born and living in England yesterday supported England or Israel in the football as that community seems mostly overlooked in the debate about conforming. My suspicion is most wanted Israel to win but am keen to know what others think. I think sometimes Israel is treated differently to other foreign countries due to its role as America's "Watchdog" in the Middle East, and the neighbours won't play them at games cos they hate them so they go in European competitions despite the geographical nonsense of that.

What do you think about the indian premier leauge? Well I feel it's bad for a load of the big stars are giving up lots of county cricket for 20/20 which does not give them good practice for test matches this summer. 20/20 has no stratergy it's just slogging. And isn't as intresting as ODIs or Tests. Do you think cricket is going down hill with all these power plays and games for people with low attention spams?
Why are most Indian cricket supporters fans of Stephen Waugh? Why I ask this question is an answer on a previous question from an Indian user (I belive) stating Stephen used his mind and not harsh words to conquer oponets. Stephen Waugh didnt invent sledging ,but he and his Australian team pretty much prefected it. He got inside the minds of many opponets and alot came undone before they even strapped a pad on. There was also fierce competition on the field and PLENTY of sleding ( I prefer gamesmanship or banter) and Stephen would never give an inch and if they could not get a wicket he would psycolocicaly strangle opponets till they came undone. (PLEASE dont think this is a go at Stephen, he is my favourite player and always will be, and I think this is the way cricket should be played, and if you dont, dont ever complain that test cricket is boring, cause this adds excitment to the game) So with these points, why is Punter so hated on the Sub Continet and Stephen admired so. Serious answers only please. This question is not a dig at anyone.
Australia what do you think? referring to test match cricket rules... ICC please take notice..? because the ICC gave indias player a 3 match suspention due to a recial comments towards an austrailan player, india decides to pull out of the tour.if this is the case then why doesnt the ICC adopt a rule that clearly states that if a team forfits a game for any reason then the other team automaticaly wins??? this is the way in america and always has been so why not adopt this rule and maybe other teams will think about pulling out before hand instead of taking a loss... i see this as a whimps way out as they dont seem to think they have a chance to win with out this player so they do the next best thing instead of holding their heads high and play and maybe loose with dignity they crap out and walk off the tour pouting... cheers jo
Cricket Players vs Baseball Players?? " Who will win? " Back in early 1900's there were some matches played back then.. but lets face it cricket and baseball have changed drastically, pitchers/bowlers can reach 90+mph. I believe in order to have a controlled experiment, 16 college baseball players from US should play against 16 Australian college cricket players, and they should be given ONLY! 30 days each to hone their new cricketing or baseball skills (i.e pitching./bowling, hitting/batting, fielding). Then they should play one baseball game, and one 3 day Test match. no doubt each team should be able to win in their respective sport.. but the KEY will be to see who Will adapt easily? so what do u all think can it be done?
What and which skillz should they improve? Bangladesh has been playing test cricket for around 8 years and they have only won a single game. They do have talent and some quality cricketers but why do they struggle to be competitive? What skills and which part of their game do you think they should improve the most? And are their any Bangladeshis on Y!A.I've only seen the Aussies,Indians,Kiwis,Sri Lankans,Pakistanis and a few English fans in here.Where are the rest of the representatives? I'm looking for answers and good ones at that. All opinions are good too. No,since the Aussies and Indians have been having fun with the Cb series,I was just wondering where are the rest of the cricket fans. I think this forum should be used to have fun and gain a bit of insight into cricket and whatever..not to fight over crap..
Did we expect too much from our Indian team after winning one test on aussie tour.? I am guilty of this, i thought we played very well in aussie, but i think my brothers from indian got one day cricket mixed up with 'real' cricket. i have been brought up to believe TEST cricket is the purest form of the game, i love the intellectual side of the game, the mental toughness needed to stay at the crease etc. i try to play like this, that is why i score well almost every game. some good news for my friends both here is aussie and in india, i was named young batsman of the year in my league, i was very humble and thanked my coach and teammates for their support, my adopted parents who i consider my parents were so proud. i only wish my blood family could share this with me, i wish i knew them. sorry but i often think what they look like and stuff, wrong section i know. please answer my question, thank you friends.
Why was Saurav Ganguly not brought back in one-day cricket earlier? For a man who has scored over 10,000 runs in one day cricket and has a record of being among the highest number of six hiters, it is strange that he was never given a chancve in the one day game after he was removed as captain and player. He was given three chances- against Sri Lanka, Pakistan and South Africa as a test player. Just as the home team sets the pitch to its advantage, a player has to play to his strenghts . The irony is that alll cricketers feel that test cricket is the real cricket and is tougher. All the more reason to bring him back in the one day version first for confidence. Nice to see him score 96; this was written in Dec' 2005http://hirenshah.wordpress.com/2005/12/24/poem-the-return-of-saurav-ganguly/ He must be hailed for resilience and mental strength- its like an MD being asked to struggle to rejoin a co he has headed for five years with so much public attention. Anyone who plays for the nation should be treated with dignity especially a good leader
What should be the strategies of India & Sri Lanka when they go down under later this year? * Strategy Sri Lanka - Is there any chance of Jayasuriya batting in the middle order? I think Sangakara should bat at number 3 most of the times & Chamara Silva should be sent earlier when Sri Lanka loses some early wickets. Attapattu should be back in the test side & if he is fully fit then also in the one-day team. That lefty Perera should be given a chance again. Mahela should stop playing too aggressively. I think he should play his natural game. I have noticed,he has started playing too many shots. Another thing, Lankans players should stop acting too nicely to their opponents, specially Australia. If un want to beat them, you must show some aggression to them on field * India's strategy - Play Sreesanth as much as u can against Australia. Tall guy, V.R.V Singjh should be selected for the test series. Dhoni & Yuvi shud bat at #3 in odi cricket. We shud play with two spinners against Australia in both test & odi matches. Sree should use bouncers more often against Australia India should persist with Ganguly - Sachin pair in odi's & they shuold be careful in the running between the wickets department. Don't lose too many wickets against Australia in the first 20 overs. Aussies tend to give away a lot of runs in the middle & final overs so wait for the final overs. Bring back VVS L;axman because he plays best against Australia. Irfan Pathan should use the new ball in both one day & test cricket. Improve running between the wickets. And they should be aggressive because aggression tease Australian cricketers. It's showtime for our cricketers. They need to take the challenge & perform, otherwise they will be engulfed by Aussies
